I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
